The sixth annual Mighty Mullet Maritime Festival, a one-day outdoor event in Woolley Park located on the waterfront in Panacea, Florida, is scheduled for Saturday, October 29. The Festival is a benefit for the Big Bend Maritime Center, a living museum that we are creating adjacent to Woolley Park to honor the maritime history and heritage of the Big Bend. So, mark your calendars now and submit your vendor booth application as soon as possible. Although there are plenty of great spots, we assign them strictly by date received.
We will do our job on publicity and planning an exciting event with live music, lots of games and contests for children and adults, maritime exhibits and demonstrations, and many other activities. We will also crown the 2011 Mighty Mullet Maritime Festival King and Queen.
Location: Woolley Park, Panacea, Florida. This Wakulla County Park is on Dickerson Bay in Panacea, two blocks off of US 98 (Coastal Highway) about 30 miles south of Tallahassee. (On MapQuest enter 1327 Coastal Highway, Panacea, FL. The Park is on the water two blocks east of this address.) The Park is also the location of the Blue Crab Festival and other public events so is well known to the public. It has many excellent spots for booths, most with access to electricity and water.
Entry Requirements: We reserve the right to turn down vendors of certain products. We prefer original arts and crafts but we also accept food products (preserves, honey, etc.) and certain special manufactured products. No “flea market” vendors allowed. See the attached application for more details.
Food Vendors Note: We will limit the number of food and concession vendors to avoid having too many of the same type, so if you are a food or concession vendor, submit your application as early as possible. You must specify the one to three products most essential for your success and must only sell those items plus beverages. Also, please include the length of your rig in your application and how much electricity you use. Note: There is a great demand for mullet and other seafood at this event.
Schedule: The hours for booths are 10:00 A.M. until 4:00 P.M. You must remain open for business throughout these hours. We cannot allow vehicles entering or leaving during the Festival. We will lay out the booth locations on Friday morning and show you your spot when you arrive either that afternoon from 3 - 7 P.M. or from 7:30 to 9 A.M. on Saturday morning. All vehicles must be removed from the festival grounds by 9:30 A.M.
Fees: See attached Booth Agreement form. Fees help pay for advertisement so if you can sign up early it will help us pay for the ads as we go along and we will give you first consideration for your booth location.
